BIOGRAPHY
Jelmex (Jelmer Boensma), a Dutch DJ and producer hailing from the East of the Netherlands, is poised to set his mark in the music industry. With his unwavering dedication and passion for dance music, this sixteen-year-old talent is on the path to success. He brings a unique style to the scene, characterized by a feel-good, fresh energy that is guaranteed to get everyone moving. With a strong determination to showcase his talents to the world, Jelmex is a rising star to watch in the coming years.
THE STORY
Jelmex’s journey began at the tender age of 10, when he first began experimenting with DJ equipment. Over time, he mastered his skills and developed the unique sound that he is recognized for today. One year later, Jelmex delved into the world of music production, fueling his passion for dance music even further. His love for dance music led him to various special places in pursuit of his big dream.
Having gained significant experience performing in nightclubs in Twente, Jelmex earned an opportunity to play at the mainstage of Bevrijdingsdag Enschede at the age of 12. His career had shown a promising upward trend since the start, until it was unexpectedly interrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
While many of his colleagues were inactieve during the COVID-19 lockdown, Jelmex took a proactive approach. He collaborated with the ‘Gemeente Hengelo’ and local talents to release his first single, ‘De Afstand’, which aimed to provide support to the youth during the challenging times. Additionally, he organized several livestreams for his fans, including a memorable one in partnership with Paradiso Amsterdam.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jelmex has resumed his upward trajectory in the music industry, and there is no stopping him now. He has performed at the biggest dance festival in the East of the Netherlands at the age of 15, Freshtival Enschede, which drew a crowd of 60.000 people in 2022. His skills has also taken Jelmex to several (mainstage) performances at major regional festivals, such as Boulevard Outdoor, Bevrijdingsdag Enschede and Dak D’r Af Festival. Additionally, he has graced the stages of the most popular nightclubs in the region, including Lucky Rijssen and Dancing Bruins. Jelmex also played at large stadiums like the Grolsch Veste and the Erve Asito.
